May he rest in peace. i never knew him, but i’ve heard nothing but good words about him. The other day i was telling You about a shade of sadness that looms over SL, due to the fact that this virtual world is an outlet – often the only plausible one – for many people who face extreme difficulties with their health in RL. You talk to them, interact with them, enjoy their contribution to this virtual world… And at the same time You have this nagging thought that one day they’ll be gone, defeated by whatever ails them. And in the meantime, You can only grab whatever moments You can to have a good time with them, because they’re often really great people to be with and because otherwise You might never have had the chance to meet them and because these moments make them happy too.
A strange mixture of happiness and sadness, a bit like in RL… Or perhaps even more so.

To clarify: SL and people’s interactions within it are a strange mixture of happiness and sadness.
Happiness because of the friendships forged and the creativity unleashed there…
And sadness when someone passes away – and also sadness caused by knowing that a dear friend will soon cease to be among us.
