Updates from the week ending Sunday, February 13th, 2022
This summary is generally published every Monday, and is a list of SL viewer / client releases (official and TPV) made during the previous week. When reading it, please note:
- It is based on my Current Viewer Releases Page, a list of all Second Life viewers and clients that are in popular use (and of which I am aware), and which are recognised as adhering to the TPV Policy. This page includes comprehensive links to download pages, blog notes, release notes, etc., as well as links to any / all reviews of specific viewers / clients made within this blog.
- By its nature, this summary presented here will always be in arrears, please refer to the Current Viewer Release Page for more up-to-date information.
- Note that for purposes of length, TPV test viewers, preview / beta viewers / nightly builds are generally not recorded in these summaries.

Excuse me, dumb question coming up: Is Singularity dead? Didn’t get an update in a looooong time.

Simgularity’s release version has not updated, but they produce “nightly” builds with more recently features and capabilities. I don’t track “nightly” / “test” style builds because it can get a little too involved.

Their last Nightly was 8419, Feb 14 2021, so exactly one year old by now. 😐
Usually I get updated automagically via the Arch User Repo, but as I mentioned, nothing happening on Singu’s side. 😦

Ah, OK. As noted I don’t track the nightlies.

Hi, Inara. I would like to suggest you keeping an eye on SpeedLight (www.speedlight.io), as it is currently going under some major remodeling and adding a new Unity 3D viewer that should be released soon. As it is web-based, it can be used fairly decently on mobile devices (it offers apps for them as well).

I do keep a watch on Speedlight and have reported on it is the past. I do, however, find it doesn’t run as smoothly as it once did on my Android devices (both pretty good systems with a min of 4 Gb RAM, decent CPU / GPU combinations and both on Android 10) either in app mode or via a browser. Similarly, It doesn’t appear to be happy running in my Chrome-based Win 10 browser. All of which makes testing and giving an honest option on the more recent updates somewhat difficult.
